Observation Tower

Overview
A new observation tower was opened for visitors in Dreverna Village, Klaipėda District on May 29, 2015. Standing tall at 15 meters high, this novel metal structure observation tower is located on the right shore of the Curonian Lagoon and is the highest of all nearby towers and the only tower to have one-legged metal chairs on its top. The observation deck has information stands with detailed information about the objects and sites that can be see with the naked eye. The tower provides views of the National Curonian Lagoon Park, the dunes and the lagoon itself. Dreverna with its nationally protected areas surround the tower from all sides. If lucky, visitors of the tower can observe the largest Lithuanian bird of prey, the white-tailed eagle, which preys upon fish and water birds in the lagoon. Nesting reed warbles, Great Bitterns and mute swans can be seen in the summer. The common shelduck with younglings can be seen in the open shores of the lagoon in the second half of the summer. Dreverna Observation Tower can be visited at any time of the day. No entrance fees apply.
