Mežaparks is one of the most beautiful, greenest, and prestigious neighborhoods in Riga, as well as a popular recreational area.
Recreation Park
In 1949, the spacious cultural and recreational park "Mežaparks" was opened, which is one of Riga's environmental landmarks. Throughout the creation and existence of the park, one of the few compact forest areas in Riga has been deliberately preserved.

Song Festival Space
The "Song Festival Space" is dedicated to the birth, journey, and continuation of the Latvian song and dance festival tradition. Located at the Great Stage in Mežaparks, the permanent exhibition by the Museum of Literature and Music offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the history of the song festival tradition and participate in various activities.
In the Community Room of the exhibition, the whole family can join in on trivia games and test their knowledge of what they've learned at the exhibition, feeling the spirit of competition and having a great time! The exhibition is located in the Northwest Wing of the Great Stage in Mežaparks, also known as the Silver Grove.
Riga National Zoo
Next to the recreational park, on the shores of Ķīšezers, lies one of the city's most popular leisure spots – the Riga National Zoo. This beloved nature attraction has a rich history and offers modern recreational and educational experiences all year round. It invites visitors to explore the diversity of living nature and enjoy an exciting walk!
