Alam-Pedja is an area with large bogs, wet forests and floodplains and meandering rivers. The area was taken under nature protection in 1994. The area of the protected area is 34220 ha. This extensive natural area is located on the shores of Lake Võrtsjärv and lies in the border areas of Jõgeva, Tartu and Viljandi counties. Various bogs, rivers, meadows, including floodplains, diverse flora and fauna, traditional village landscape. There is a Kirna study trail (6.8 km) and a Selli-Sillaotsa study trail (4.7 km) in the area.
