Overview
Hinni canyon is a ravine 15-20 m in depth, located in a specially managed zone in the Haanja Nature Park. This majestic natural monument in Devonian sandstone is unique in Estonia. No other deep sandstone canyons are known. The canyon is about 200 m long, 6-10 m wide, narrowing quickly to 3 m. Crisscross of fallen trees and a small cave with a spring add extra uniqueness. The spring water is known to have a treating and rejuvenating effect. Boardwalk and stairs are provided to access to the narrow and steep canyon.
